Black and white photography makeup

Hiiii everyone,

As you all know from reading my blog or my social media I am studying Fashion, Theatre and Media Makeup in Gainforts Academy.

Each week we are given a theme to research and then the following week we have to come in and try out a make up look based on that theme on someone in the class.

We can go as mad, natural, over the top or as simple as we like. Our tutor Louise is there every step of the way to help us along.

I thought it might be fun to bring you all along with me as I create my different looks to suit the theme each week.

When I googled black and white make up photography most of the pictures looked them same but I wanted to do something a little different.

One of the pictures that I really liked was this one below with what looks like water running down the models face.

I hadn’t a clue how to create it but after talking to my tutor, I knew exactly how to give this look a try.

Here is what I came up with.

I did find it so hard to pick up the water drops on the camera. I wasn’t quite enough taking the picture as I was trying to apply the liquid down the face and the bright light was drowning out the liquid.

There are a few little things that I would change if I went to do this look again but for my very first try I am happy with how it turned out.

If anyone has any suggestions on how I can improve this look please comment below I would love to hear what you have to say!

Stay tuned for more,

Joanne x
